Low vitamin D is common, and easy to miss

Low vitamin D often has no obvious symptoms. When it does, people describe tiredness, low mood, aches, or hair shedding. Those signs have many other causes, so we do not assume.

Why a shot

Most people do well on oral vitamin D. A shot can make sense when someone does not absorb it well, struggles to take daily pills, or needs to raise a low level sooner.
