What to Expect

Simple. Transparent. No Insurance Needed.

At The Pur Health, we believe high-quality care should be accessible, flexible, and stress-free. That’s why we offer cash-pay medical visits—a straightforward option for patients who are uninsured, underinsured, or prefer to bypass insurance altogether. Whether you’re managing a chronic condition, scheduling a quick physical, or addressing a private concern, our direct-pay model puts you in control of your care and costs.

We serve adults and teens 12 and older with a full range of primary care and preventive services—no referrals, authorizations, or insurance networks required.

Why Choose Cash-Pay Visits?

There are many reasons patients in Irvine and across Orange County choose to pay cash:

  • No insurance? You can still access high-quality medical care at a fair, transparent rate.
  • High deductibles? Avoid unexpected bills and pay only for what you need.
  • Privacy concerns? Keep your visit off insurance records—for mental health, STI testing, or sensitive issues.
  • Speed and convenience? Get seen sooner without insurance pre-approvals or paperwork delays.

Whether it’s a simple visit or something more complex, we provide clear upfront pricing so you can make informed decisions.

How much does a doctor visit cost without insurance in Irvine?

A cash-pay visit with Dr. Munib is $190 for new patients and $150 for returning patients. The price is the same whether you come in for a sinus infection, a physical or a medication review, and it is shown in the booking window before you book.

You pay per visit. There is no monthly fee and no contract.

What the visit price covers

Time with the physician, the exam, a diagnosis and plan, and any prescriptions or lab and imaging orders.

What can cost extra

Lab tests and imaging are paid to the lab or imaging center at their self-pay price. Any in-office procedure is quoted before it is done.

How to pay

Credit, debit, HSA and FSA cards are accepted at check-in.

Cash pay or insurance: which is cheaper if I have a high deductible?

If you have a high-deductible plan and have not met your deductible, you would pay the full billed rate for a sick visit anyway. A fixed cash price lets you know the cost before you walk in.

We are also in-network with most PPO plans, so if you have PPO coverage you can choose to use it instead.

  • Ask your plan whether a cash visit can count toward your deductible.
  • If you want to submit the visit for out-of-network reimbursement, ask for an itemized receipt.
  • Preventive visits such as an annual physical are often covered with no copay on in-network plans, so check that before paying cash for one.

Is this direct primary care (DPC)?

Not exactly. Direct primary care practices usually charge a monthly fee for access to a doctor. At The Pur Health you pay only for the visits you have, at a set price, with no monthly fee.

You still get the same doctor each time. Dr. Munib has cared for patients in Irvine for more than 15 years and keeps your history, labs and medications in one place.

Ongoing care without insurance: blood pressure, cholesterol and thyroid

Many cash-pay patients are between jobs or plans and need someone to keep a long-term condition on track. The visit price is the same for follow-ups, so you can plan the cost of the year ahead.

High blood pressure

After starting or changing a blood pressure medicine, follow-up is usually about monthly until your readings reach goal, then less often. A home blood pressure cuff can cut down on visits.

High cholesterol

Cholesterol is usually rechecked 4 to 12 weeks after starting or changing a statin, then every 3 to 12 months as needed.

Thyroid

Thyroid levels (TSH) are usually rechecked about 6 to 8 weeks after a dose change, then less often once they are stable.

Ask for generic medicines when they fit. Dr. Munib can help you choose options that keep your prescription costs down.

School, sports and work physicals

Dr. Munib does physicals and completes school, sports and work forms for adults and teens 12 and older as a cash-pay visit.

  • Bring the form, already filled in where it asks for your details.
  • Bring your vaccine record and a list of medicines.
  • Bring glasses or contacts if you wear them, for the vision check.
  • For sports, book a few weeks before the season starts so there is time for any follow-up.
